just installed cam and lifters, my stock carb seems like its now starving for fuel at like 5500 rpms. acts like its going to stall out. if it idles for a lil bit itll stall. anyone have any solutions?

if you went real big on the cam even w/a race carb you may have started running lean up there 5500, at idle the problem may be poor vacuum signal under the carb because of the duration on the cam, i have a sbc that wont idle below 1200 rpm because of the valve overlap but sounds nasty, lol . try bumping up the idle a little and may be go up a jet size or two for you high rpm lean out, if the jet change makes it worse you may need to drill the air bleeds in the carb out a little. there's tons of info online for that depending on the carb cause there all different

whats the cam degree'd on ,how much compression,float setting,jet size, ?

i need to find some one yet to degree it doug, i cant find anyone, and havent did a compression test yet.. i dont have a guage.. looks like i need someone to come on out and check it out degree etc.. i we pay for the trip n degree

the weber carb dont stall out though... car just seems to smoke alot like its loading up... but cam was not degreed yet im looking

I have a weber 38 and a 300 cam in my engine @ 108 (I think where I left it) my engine doesn't like to idle until its good and warm. It will hunt and sometimes stall until warm.
Really goes when you hit the gas though : )
