The real fun came in 2000, when Ace purchased a crashed landspeed chevrolet Chevette with no engine. For two years he redesigned and rebuilt the fastest Chevrolet Chevette in the world, 3030. Ace first drove 3030 in Maxton, NC, but in 2004 he hauled 3030 to the salt flats in Bonneville, UT. It was at the flats, during Speed Week, that Ace, with the help of 3030, broke the World Land Speed Record for his class vehicle. At 246 mph, Ace Allen entered the record books and became a member of the 200 MPH Club. Not satisfied, he hauled 3030 to Maxton, NC in 2004 and broke the east coast record and became a member of the East Coast 200 MPH Club. Still unable to rest, Ace revisited Bonneville in 2006 and broke his own record at 262.088 mph. Unfortunately, at the hands of another driver, 3030 did not survive Speed Week 2006. We all await Ace's next racing adventure, untill then you can rest assured your car is safe with an award winning mechanic. allensautoservice.com/Bonneville.aspx
