Hello Everyone,
I just purchase a sweet project/resto 2dr 86 chevette and that brakes are inconsistant and at best dont stop. I change the master cylinder, bled the lines/master cylinder, got the car level to and put in extra fluid and still brakes SUCK. the brake ppedal pushes all the way down to the floor and works better sometimes if i pump the heck out of it. The indicaters did go off visually everything intake. the guy i purchase it from noted he put disk brakes on the front wheels and left the rear drums.
Thus, if you guys can offer up any solutions for getting the car to stop on a dime let me know;maybe there's is a braking kit I can buy and change all to disk brakes.
I was thinking it could the be the power brake boster?
I also was swapping the Master cylinder and the brake booster to the S10's booster and master cylinder, would that mount up and would it give me better stopping?
anyway give me your thoughts

your car came with disks on the front, most have very good brakes without a booster,if you can pump the brakes and they get better you still have air, make sure the back brakes are ajusted up

Thanks man, its funny though they seem to work when the car has just started but after i start driving they completely stop working. and when they are working you have to press the pedal to the floor. Also when i pump it while park, when just stating, the idle drops and raises on the release of the pedal.
Ill check the back brakes
