ok...maybe I need to ask for roll bar rules for any track? Looked through ten pages with no help?
Does the chevette even need a roll bar to race?

Yes they have rules for the roll bars and yes u need a good cage I think to run at the rim it 4 door bars on driver side 3 on pass you need to run bar out under the hood and tie them in to the shock towers

I believe Team25 is correct on the rollcage. You need a minimum 4 point cage, but with the Chevette being a uni-body car, the better you brace it, the less it will flex. You'll also need an aluminum racing seat, 5 point harness, covered fuel cell, window net, fire extinguisher, and a SFI approved fire suit / DOT approved helmet. Don't skip on safety. These Chevettes run faster than most think. Keep an eye on their website. www.highlandrim.com/ They are having rules meetings Dec 11 - 15th.

Thanks yall for the replies! umm..after the roll cage is installed should the doors be welded shut? should the hatch be welded also?
is the aluminum seat (man-da-tory)
Thanks again for the replies and any pointers any member want to share or point out will be put into the thought process of making this fun:)
My parents drove chevette's for years when I was younger, I even learned to drive a stick shift in a chevette:) many many miles have been spent behind the wheel of a chevette.
