I have been in contact with the Highland Rim tech guys and they are needing suggestions for the 2013 Chevette rules. I have invited them to join our forum, so they should be chiming in during the next few days. Here's your chance to voice your opinions / concerns!
PLEASE only make suggestions if you are going to race there or have interest in racing there next year.
Thanks,
- Doc

I'm more in favor of "Run Whatcha Brung" with some restrictions.
1. No racing slicks or DOT performance tires (Z rated etc) Allow any size DOT street tire.
2. No coilovers.
3. No full tube chassis.
4. 1900 lb min weight, 55% max left side.
5. $30 per shock buy rule.
6. Cast Iron Chevette block & head. No titanium components.
7. Gas only, no alcohol, nitrous, or other fuel additives.
I believe this would allow any Chevette in the area to run at the Rim. You guys chime in, especially the regulars.

rules look fine. only problem is tires. only tires that you can buy anytime for the size you want is a dot racing tire if you want a 215 50 13... tires are getting hard to find

Good point Jason. Phillip Lawrence and I had this discussion yesterday. We may have to go to stock wheels and 155 / 75s... lol Does anyone know the cost of a 13" racing slick? Phillip brought up the idea of allowing 14" wheels due to a better tire selection. It may be cheaper to go to a racing slick, rather than having to buy wheels and tires? We'll check into that.
