Didn't think this would be that hard, but where can I find a timing tensioner for a 1.6? Seems to be extinct.

i need a tensioner as well i have called a few companies, they all said the company that made them (New Departure) closed back in the '80s and no one is able to get them. I don't know if it'll help, but i could post the number on the bearing later whenever i get home from work i ordered one that was supposed to be the correct one (same bearing #, was sitting on one of the places shelves) but when i got it it was just a bearing. on the tensioner, the actual pulley is the outer race of the bearing; the bearing cannot be pressed out. so i'm having a machine shop see if the can cut the center out of the pulley so i can press in my bearing i got :/ And then if that doesnt work i'm going to get either a 4.3 v6 or a 350 and drop that in my little 'Vette. i'm kinda hoping it doesnt work for that reason. but my wallet doesnt agree lmao

I hear that The tensioner for a 2003 Saturn Vue with a 3.0 Opal engine will work great. Same as a Cadillac Catera.
