I recently bought a chevette race car from Lebanon Tn. #63 car hadn't been started in 4-5 years. I want this car for dirt but was told it is set up for pavement. What is the main differences in a car set up for asphalt tracks vs a car set up for dirt track. basically what do i need to change?

You might just hot lap it the way it is and see how it handles. We've went from asphalt to dirt and vice versa and not change a whole lot. The main areas to check would be left side weight percentage, camber, shocks, and spring rates. Most asphalt cars have a stiff setup, which wont allow for much body roll. Personally, I like the setup on the softer side for dirt, but not everyone does.
Are you located in Tennessee? Where are you planning on racing?

You will also want to adjust ride heights and split percentage in your tires..... as well as the front way bar....but ilke Doctor said just go out with it how it is and see how you like it. Have someone lap time you and then make adjustments according to how the car feels, go back out and time the laps again. Loose is fast but you have to be able to control the car so there is a fineline. good luck
