Brushcreek Motorsports Set to Kick off '08 Season
(Peebles, Ohio) After enduring a cold wet winter and early spring Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will begin the 2008 campaign on Saturday April 26, with an open Test & Tune for all classes. Gates are set to open at noon for Test & Tune, the annual event that gives drivers a chance to shake down their cars in preparation for the upcoming season.
The season officially kicks into full gear on Saturday May 3 with the season opener featuring Late Models, Modifieds, Chevettes/4 cylinders, Bombers, Legends, Trophy 4 cylinder Class, plus an Enduro & Go Karts. Pit gate opens at 4:00 PM, General Admission gate opens at 5:00 PM and drivers meeting at 6:30 on May 3.
"It's been several months since we last raced but we stayed busy during the off season", stated owner Tom Partin. Partin continued, "We used the off season to look for ways to provide a more exciting entertaining racing experience for the fans, competitors and sponsors, we constructed a new announcers booth/scoring tower, and when weather permitted we did some work on the track" I'm exited about getting back to racing and looking forward to see what the 2008 season holds."
During the off season a group of officials from Brushcreek Motorsports traveled to Lake Mary, Florida to participate in the 35th annual RPM Promoters Workshop Series. The 19 session workshop discussed in depth, the day-to-day issues promoters face, breadth of weekly race track operation, emphasizing practical ideas adaptable to any short track. The workshop also scheduled informal networking time for track operators, their employees, and industry leaders.
One of the new promotions at Brushcreek Motorsports for 2008 is the Fantasy Racing Challenge, a promotion based on the results of driver performances in feature events at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex during 2008. Before each race, you select a driver for each class (Late Models, Modifieds, Legends, Bombers & Chevette/4cylinders) represented in the Fantasy Racing League. Points are earned based on feature finishing position of each driver on your team. The team owner that accumulates the most points over the coarse of the 2008 season will win a 2009 Brushcreek Motorsports season pass. As previously announced Brushcreek Motorsports will incorporate one way radio communication between a track official and racers during the 2008 season. Brushcreek Motorsports will use a mandatory system of one-way scanner communication, providing lineups, instruction, and race direction from the race director to the drivers for all weekly classes (Late Models, Modifieds, Legends, Bombers, Chevette/ 4 cylinders & Trophy 4 Cylinders) in 2008 . It is the responsibility of each race team to make sure that scanners are mounted in the car safely and are in good operational order. Scanners must be activated and in use during all events, including preliminary events, and warm-ups. Scanners must be programmed to the dedicated race frequency only. The dedicated race frequency will be announced at the drivers meeting and posted on the pit board. Competitors will be able to buy or rent RACEceiver at the track.
Brushcreek Motorsports will also use AMB transponders in the Late Model, Modified, Legend, and Bomber classes in 2008. Every car in competition in these classes must be equipped with an AMB scoring and timing transponder. Competitors will be able to use Brushcreek's AMB transponders, but will be responsible for mounting them on their cars. Any Competitor who uses their own working AMB transponder will receive $15 from Brushcreek every time it is used in the feature.
