most tracks don't allow electric pumps in the rules,a good mech. pump will take a vette motor 7k and above with no problem if you increase all the fuel line to 3/8 or larger id,the stock line is much to small - hope this helps-

i read somewhere if you take the fuel pump push rod out you can lose oil pressure is that true. johnny

the rod is in the oil gally without it you might hold 10 to 20 lbs.

do you know a way i can put the rod in with out it moving so it wont hit the distributor and the block off plate. thanks johnny

not that i'm aware of ,when it is working it only moves a small amount,i prelube all my new engines before startup and the rod doesn't move and have oil presure,how much do you have
