Hey guys! So far I really like the site. I don't know if I will be doing a whole lot of racing, but I'll certainly be hanging around in the hopes of picking up so good info. Anyways, here is my 1979 Chevette that my father-in-law was getting ready to haul off to the yard. I have spent a little bit of time in that last couple of days reviving it and giving it a new look. I wish I had some before pics, but I never seem to think of that when I get started on a porject. It's taken a gallon of bondo, a couple rolls of painter's tape and several hours to get it to this point but so far so good. When I got the car the hood and passenger fender were covered in surface rust. So I thought I'd shoot a 70's Cuda' Challenger-esk flat black on the hood and roof. I managed to find a similar yellow at Wal-Mart. I picked up a slackers pin striping kit at Advanced and used it to cover the lousy edge that the painter's tape left behind. The rear wheel wells were nearly rotted off, so I grabbed my trusty grinder and cut the SOBs off. Maybe I'll fool people into thinking it's to allow room for some fat tires. As far as how it ran, well, some new gas and a new battery and it fired right up! I hoping to pick up some wheels, and throw a set of air shocks underneath it. As far as the other horses in the stable, I've got a 1969 Dodge Charger that I hope to wrap up this summer and a 52 Ford that I am helping my dad ratrod-ize.

I honestly don't know. I wish I did. I think they look really cool. I'll pull them off and see if there aren't any numbers or names on them.
