steven you also need to explain that from 300 up the base circle is not stock and work has to be done to the cam tower

Good point Doug.
The 300, 308, and 318 cams are not ground on the stock base circle. .040" has to be removed from the cam carrier in order to correct the valve train geometry. This is for Lazer cams only. If you are using another brand, please contact them concerning base circle diameters. I know Lunati cams also require this modification.

In addition to the chart, here are the information sheets that Lazer cams was including with their new cams. Chevette Informations Installation and Break-in Instructions *** Before installing the cam, make sure it's capped with a frost plug at its small end! It really sucks when it's missing, believe me... oil pressure drops and internal damages can occur. ***

Racer 33, if you're running the 308 Lazer and have not cut the cam carrier .040", then your cam geometry is off. It will run without this done, but your contact patch on your rocker arm will be off, along with overall valve lift.
Sobeit, the intake centerline for a 280 Lazer is 102*

also whatever you think you have your cam degree is set at is wrong because you did not get max lift at tdc, this also causes a slight binding in the valvetrain

the 290 is a direct bolt in,and to me is the best all round cam unless you want to turn really high rpm
