I'm posting this to get a few opinions. We think this relatively new class may be a good idea for possibly the 09 racing season, since there is alot of talk about the chevette class being cut after 08 at many facilities. This class is the Northern Michigan Modifieds or Mod 4's. It is a class designed with budget racers in mind much like the chevette class. The cars are 3/4 scale open wheel modifieds that use actual open wheel suspension components, rear-end suspension connections, so when you or your young driver are ready to move up to the full size open wheels you can take all your suspension with you, and you will already have learned to set up and adjust open wheel suspension. These cars use stock configuration Ford 2000, 2300, GM 140, 151, or Chrysler 2.2 engines. Basic head and intake mods such as Grinding, porting, polishing, and milling is allowed. Headers are allowed. The class runs 13" racing wheels just like chevettes. The class has a set of rules that are strictly enforced to insure that racing is fair for everyone, keeping it a budget class and not a money game, as we all know many classes turn into. Please feel free to ask questions and please state your opinions. I have the full set of rules and some drawings that i am willing to send you if you would like to look at the full list of rules and take a closer look at the class. Thanks Anthony Jeffries Jeffries Racing

Talking abou the GM 140 and 151, I have chevrolet 4 cylinder engine thats 181! Its half of a 327, it is like a 3.0 4 cylinder that came out of an old boat! Its based just like the iron dukes that came out in the chevy II! I say you could build it and it would be a screamer!

Yah that would be nice but it would be against the rules and thats one of the good things about the class is the rules are enforced so there is no cheating
