Stephen that is still cheaper than a big car motor.

Yeah, a super late model or open wheel engine will cost you $10,000+. I think UMP has went to the 604 crate engine, alot of limited late model divisions have too. They're a GM Performance sealed racing engine. Retails for around $5,000. The Grand National division at Nashville requires the smaller 602 crate engine, which retails around $3000. You could build a modified street (Super stock) for about the same price as a front running Chevette. Anything higher than that, plan on spending close to $10,000 or more.

Another problem the chevette class is a lack of support. There was some tracks out there that was willing to let us run, but no one showed up. Highland rim will let us run next year, but no one wants to run asphalt. I dont know what else to do? ??

talking about the truck class, only thing i was thinking today, the toyotas and nissans, to lower them u have to flip the rearend, like a ford ranger, where an s10 you can just lower the back with blocks, and cut the front springs for the front, and you know there is still a lot of s-10 still around, like the chevettes wher made from 76-87. the square body style was from 82-93, that would be a good class 2.5 4 cylinder class! So what do you think fields!

It sure did suck when we had 5 cars show up at Crossville. I know there was at least 10 more that "could" have come, but was afraid of the track or something. That's really when i lost all interest in trying anymore. If i had a Chevette to run, i would like to race at Highland Rim with you Billy. At least until i got the Monte Carlo built.
Where's all the Macon County cars going in 2008? Any word on Macon Co opening next year or is it going to be a dog pound?
Froggett, i never have liked the S10 power plant. Cheap Cheap Cheap, all the way to the end. If you've ever worked on a Toyota versus an S10, you'll see what i mean.

As far as I know the Macon co cars are going to The Rim unless Carthage opens. I dont think Macon co will ever open again. The truck class would be great, any make just have weight rules for the different power plants, etc...
