am having problems with my 87 stock vette, head has been rebuild, new stock cam, eveything new up top, but at 2200 rpm (every time, cold hot rain snow,) i can hear spark knock, i toke my sthoscope and its really loud at the number 4 cylinder and its at the top of the block, not head , not bottom of crank case, right wear the cylinder head and block come together, a garage moved to time 10 degee back and some forward and could not get the knock to move at all in the rpm range,, still their at 2200 rpm
the knock goes away after around 3000 rpm, this motor has a rebuild stock head new stock cam, lifters, rockers, rebuild carb, plugs(one heat range colder then stock gap at 35), new wires new cap new buttom cat has been removed timing set to 8 degee 165 theromstate port matched gaskets(intake and exhaust) no egr no lock up in tranny.... port on carb is pluged off...
i think i might be worn out springs on dist,
