i am running a stock 1.6 in a 1986 chevette and need to find a better cam then stock thanks for any input Creamer
P.S do you think a 500cfm Rochester carb is to much for a stock 1.6?

if you live where theres a good speed / machine shop you can have your cam reground to whatever you want if you don't find what you looking for, some where around a 278 -282 would be a good street cam

You may find it cheaper to have a camshaft manufacturer grind you a camshaft, since they specialize in just that. Try Bullet cams or Elgin. Both have websites. Talk to their tech guy, he should be able to recommend a good cam for your application. Doug is right a 278 or 282 would be a good street cam. You could have them grind you a short duration, high lift cam for better low rpm torque and a radical sound. ;D
