Some of you may have seen the discussion in the Saybox about a possible 100 lap Thanksgiving weekend Chevette race at Riverview Speedway. This is just an idea up in the air right now, nothing is set in stone. If enough interest is shown, this idea will be presented to the owners of Riverview Speedway, and then we'll go from there. Basically, the idea is: 100 Lap Chevette Race / Pit Stop - Intermission at Lap 50. Awards For: Fastest Qualifier - Hard Charger - Worst Luck - Longest Haul - Best Appearing. Additional Racing Including: Top 6 Trophy Dash - Consilations (If Needed) Things We Need to Discuss: 1. Rules - Do we keep the current rules, open them up for this race, or run 2 divisions (Stock & Modified)? Keep in mind you want to draw cars from KY and OH. 2. Payout $$$ - How much is realistic and how much will it take to get those KY and OH cars? 3. Divisions - What other divisions would you want to add to the schedule for this day? All 4 cylinder classes or a mix of 4 and 8? 4. Race Proceedures - Flat tires, can you go in the inner pits and change one or are you done? Starts and Restarts, Etc... 5. NAME OF EVENT - Turkey Leg 100 (Eddie Anderson's idea ) River Run 100 - also Eddie's idea.. Rampage on the River, SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! I think with good planning and input from all drivers, crews, and fans, this could be one BIG event! Feel free to post any ideas, questions, or concerns.

I think a $1000 to win sounds like a good idea. I would be willing to come down there. How long is the track, what gear to run and what kind of tires & size. What is the wheather temp that time of year. Give me some info and I will talk to some of the drivers up here and see what they think about the idea. There would have to be a day of practice before the race or some set time. I know alot of the drivers would love to have the chance to race on pavement. I also think you should try to get a early entry form with entry money together to get people committed.
I like that Gobbler 100 and the turkey leg 100

Riverview is 1/4 mile and banked around 26 - 28* degrees. Some run a 3.36 in 2nd with tall tires, most run a 3.70 in 3rd with medium size tires. As far as rpm's, maybe someone else could answer that. The temp. is usually anywhere from 45 - 60 degrees, but you never know down here, one day it could be 60, the next it could be 35.
I think a one day show would be best to keep costs down. Start early that morning with practice and race that afternoon.
We'll have to see how much sponsorship we can come up with before a purse is set.
I would like to see cars come from KY and OH, but that creates a problem. Most of those guys have high dollar engines (stroked, big bore, aftermarket rods). You guys down here don't have a chance against those since rules dont allow many modifications. If you run 2 classes, there's no way we could come up with enough sponsorship money to pay $500 or more in both classes. The only thing i know to do is leave the rules like they are and leave it up to the racers to make sure they are legal by those rules. What do you guys think?
Phillip that's a good suggestion! I'll get the names together and have a poll to see which one we'll use.

Guys i ask the owners of the track and they said for us to go for it they had actually been thinking along the same lines about having something around the holidays as far as a big race day now the problem as Steven stated is the difference in the motors and what everyone runs im sure if we can get this thing together we can come up with someway to get all the vettes on the track and get a payout everybody can be happy with as far as practice the track is sitting there and i know we could get you all some track time to set cars and all these drivers here will help with setups and tires and gearing but i want everyone to know i will devote 110% to this if we can get it together and as far as the name it dont matter to me i was goofing off with Steven LOL LOL so if all drivers will post on here as to any ideas to bring this together we will try our best to make it a annual event by the way Phillip points champions are not allowed to race in this hahahahahahaha
