i think they are pricy but dont u guys have to run stock? i mean u could make a flange for the intake lop off the one on the chevette and weld on the new flange. the cams are a different story couldnt tell ya much would have to look into it.

Good find, but I think it's rather made the way a sunbird head is. If I remember it fits directly on a 2.0 sunbird and also comes in serie on some 2.0 engines from deawoo. If you want to read more about it you can search on sunbird enthousiasts forums. The cams will work but you will have to put the exhaust on the driver side. The engine turns on right side when you look from the passenger side on the sunbird while it turns on the right side when you look in front on the chevette. There is some work to do to match the chevette block to the head with the exhaust on the driver side; some material to add to the block. If you do some research on the 2.0 german sunbirds and that it appears that the exhaust manifold has the same bolt pattern you would end up only searching for a way to put a carb on the intake side.

O.K. I watched the video of the guys building the Brazilian engine in the dirt. I noticed the pipe wrench and the kitchen knife but I love the engine hoist "Jorge" with a towel. I wonder if it locked up before the rings seated. I'm not trying to be a thingy but engines are hard enough to get right at a machine shop, that can't possibly work.

Hello, I'm from Brazil and is very interesting to see that the engine of our Chevette and the same.
For here we have three configurations with either alcohol or gasoline, is 1.0 (very poor), 1.4 and 1.6 liters. The head of the first page out in 1.6 Chevette engine, the combustion chamber is heart shaped, but not a good head for high performance engine, the problems are the intake runners that flow has a very bad besides that not accept to be enlarged and polished, another problem is the valve seat, there cracks between the seats on high performance engines. The best head we have here is the 1.4 that accepts any type of change and good results behind. These photos are from the head 1.4, was made a port and polish the pipes, valves larger (41mm) on admission has the original 39mm, was used in the stock exhaust (33mm) but can be used up to 36mm valves in the exhaust. Angles were made and used in valves 1mm shims at the springs of valves. Originally from Brazil Chevettes all left with mechanical lifters.
I hope we can exchange knowledge about our very Chevettes!
