I dont know if this has been brought up before but i think clinton county and some other tracks around should have a crate late model class or even a crate modified class for younger or beginning drivers to have an affordable class to move into the big cars. What do you guys think? I have heard that tracks who have brought in crate classes have actually made more money not only because there are more drivers willing because of lower cost but because they draw more fans because of the tighter racing. If the engines are the same it comes down to how well you can make your chassis work and driver skill which equals fun close racing. ;D I would deff move to this class if we could get a class started around and maybe even a crate series on diff tracks in the ky and tn area.

a competitive crate car would cost 10,000 to 15,000 . 3000 for 602 bare 4500. chassis no motor tranny, ignition. tranny 850.00 for used cheap one , dist and rest of ignition 550.00 + tires wheels and carb 500.00 and misc. not including trailer does look to much cheaper. they have a cheap class for beginners its called fwd. as far as the younger drivers the rules should state if you can't leagally drive the hauler to the track you don't race. reason being people race alittle different when it's their money thats being spent

I didnt mean for a first time driver i mean for drivers who have been racing for a while in chevettes, fwd, or street stock who would like to move into late models. A crate class would allow you to run an older chassis which can be had for a pretty good price. Yes a 602 does cost 3000 dollars new but for some that is fine if the rules are enforced and everyone is equal. Even if you have 10,000 in a car that is still cheaper than the big aluminum highly modded engined late models that are being run now. Im not saying eliminate the current late model class but to add a crate class in. It may not be for everyone but for some it may be exactly what they are looking for. This is what im looking for guys, your opinions.
