i have thought of 2 types of manifolds to make 1 is volecity stack type and the second type is like a turbo exhaust manifold #1#2my question is will it work w/o problems, people have made their own alot. the tube is going to be 1.5 inches i believe and i will be using a pipe bender(material is aluminum) which would be the best one to use. i might go stock chevette carb or holley 500.

only problem i've had with making or redoing intakes is the runner [tube ] speed,on alot of handmade intakes #1 and #4 like to run a little lean,my next one the carb will be set back [toward the inner fender ] to more of a triangle shape

I done research several years ago on desigining and building my own intake. Most of the websites i had in favorites have shut down, but here is one (How Stuff Works) that describes how tuned intakes work. Interesting read... auto.howstuffworks.com/question517.htmBTW: Turning the carburetor sideways (throttle linkage towards valve cover) will help evenly distribute fuel to all cylinders.
