I was wondering if any of you had their car tested? I would be interested, as much as many others, to know how much HP this little 4 banger can produce. Please, specify some detail so we can figure to what kind of engine it apply.
Any idea on how much a lazer 292 camed engine with big valves, ported head + intake and 38/38 weber carb will produce? I'm planning to build it with a turbo but since it can become hard to predict how well it will react, lets say it's a normally aspirated engine.

I've heard people say Huntley's Racing Engines in Ohio has dynoed them at 225+ HP at the flywheel. I've never seen it on paper, but thats what ive heard.

I'm impressed, it's quite low rev. speed. There's a guy on the international chevette club who said his setup makes 198 @ 8000rpm. I'll soon have an answer from him concerning details of his setup.

with that many rpm's i'd say his engine is a destroked engine which has no hp or torque on the bottom end.

i ran 110 over motors for years, they ran strong at 6500 7000 using sunbird pistons, but this is old school to what we build today

i'd say you could build a higher hp motor if you were to use a different head, but this would be all the air a chevette head would flow

What do you mean by different head? I have a non swirl port head. Straight open runners.

I still don't understand what you refer to by "better head". I have a straight runners head, isn't it the best I can get? I'm talking to ductman...
